This item had come up on what other customers had bought several times and after reading the reviews and burning myself a few times I decided to order. This is great for repositioning hot pans in the oven as well as lifting them. It really grips the pan. It is one of the little things that is really nice to have and ,fortunately, does not take up much space.
Also, a great item to have for the no knead bread baker. This handy little device enables the pan used on the bottom of the oven to be easily pulled out, the water quickly added, and then moved back into the oven before closing the oven door as the author of Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day: The Discovery That Revolutionizes Home Baking bread instructs to get that delightful crispy crust.

UPDATE: The rivets in the handle broke as some other reviewers complained. The fix is inexpensive and quick (less than 5 minutes).
